I just learned that I am going to have 30 minutes' time with an educational
consultant AND our principal on Wednesday morning. I requested this meeting, but
didn't expect to get it. Our consultant has been extensively involved in our
school for the past 3 years, but has never been in consulation with me. Don't even
ask why......... But now I have the ear of our new principal and the meeting will
take place tomorrow. I hardly know where to begin on what I'd like to discuss with
her and with the consultant.
I'd like to ask for the collective wisdom of this group: if you had the time of
someone who might make a difference in your program, what 2 things would you bring
up?
Let me tell you that I work for one of those Indiana corporations that does not
have professionals in their elementary libraries. I do have the K-12 endorsement
myself, but I would digress if I went into that situation.
I know there are many studies "out there" that deal with how valuable the library
media center is in improving student outcomes. If you school / system / state has
a link that you think might give me some good information to use tomorrow, would
you be willing to send it to me, off the list, of course.
In advance, I appreciate your assistance.
