A parent has asked about fiction books for her daughter who is in the third grade
but has a high reading ability (STAR test results 5.3 to 8.1). The parent is
concerned about the mature themes that are found in many of the fiction books that
fall into those levels. She is currently reading the Narnia books, but wants to
read modern young adult fiction. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
