J-
Thanks for mentioning the article on the list.
As many of you know in addition to ResourceShelf (which remains independent) I
am the new Director of Online Resources at Ask.com. One of my main tasks is
working with and learning from the K-12 library and educator community. Don't
hesitate to be in contact. Only one favor, for Ask.com comments, suggestions,
criticisms, etc. please use this address:
gary.price@ask.com
As you've seen (as recently as a post from a few minutes ago) since I stated
at Ask I'm free and encouraged to talk and write about all web resources of
value NOT only Ask. The job would not have been of interest to me if all I
could discuss or comment on was Ask.
Want more? Allow me to share an interview from LJ and article from SLJ.

and
this post has an in-depth look at the engine and my new role.

Btw, don't forget to check out our maps and aerial image database.
http://maps.ask.com
Lots of cool and potentially useful stuff.
For example, enter a location and then drag the numbered pointer to a new
location and your location will automatically recalculate.
Both walking and driving directions.
Animated directions. Once you've calculated your directions, press the
green button (upper left corner of the map) and your directions will be
animated.
cheers,
gary
