[LM_NET] 3rd Grade Books about Loss of a Parent

I am new this year and exhausted after all the Read Across America hubub.  
So I could use your help! One of our 3rd graders lost his mother yesterday.  
The teacher has asked me to gather some related books to use.  I have a list 
of books about loss, but few of them seem to do the trick.  Any suggestions?
