Honestly, it sounds like they REALLY need to update their job
description. MS DOS was an early Microsoft operating system
(pre-Windows). The last stand-alone version of MS DOS was 6.22,
released in 1994 (although a ver.7 and 8 were embedded in Windows 3.1
and Win95 respectively). If they are truly still using MS DOS as
their computer operating system (doubtless on and XT or a 286 based
system), I would run rather than walk in the opposite direction. No
software, let alone technical support, would be available for such an
antiquated system. If they feel that such an obsolete system is
appropriate for the library, one can only imagine what condition the
collection (and budget) are in.
