Our district currently uses Athena Library Software and is considering
upgrading to the new InfoCentre. Our technical staff has advised us to look
at other automation systems before making the upgrade since the transition
will likely be about the same as it would be switching companies altogether.
Would you please share with me what automation system you are using, your
level of satisfaction in terms of performance, reliability, features,
reports, technical support, etc., how long you have been using it, and
whether or not you would recommend it? Also, if you know, please indicate
whether it uses a SQL server. I would be especially interested in small
rural school systems. We are on tight budgets and the annual tech support on
this and other "library" programs such as AR almost completely consumes the
library budgets of some of our smaller schools. The tech. support is
currently paid by our central office, but that has not always been the case
and with the ever-tightening budgets, we are concerned that it will end up
back in our laps.

Thanks so much in advance for you collective wisdom!
