Wise ones, I am trying to decide how to start getting a handle on cleaning our
books and bookshelves. We have been working in the fiction section, reorganizing
sections and generally making it more user-friendly. As we do this, our hands are
getting filthy from the dust on the books and the shelves. (The lack of a
full-time library clerk for the past three years is evident in many areas like
this.) I've been using a little bit of windex on paper towels to quickly wipe
them down as we go, but I know there must be something better.
I would like to wipe books down when they come back in before we reshelve them.
What do you all suggest? I've seen a book cleaning sponge in some of the catalogs,
but wasn't sure about it.
Thanks for sharing the benefit of your experience.
