[LM_NET] MIDLE: bks like "Selfish Gene" for 7th graders

Dear friends,
A teacher here is looking for a book like The Selfish Gene by Dawkins, but on a 7th 
grade level.  He's also open to other enjoyable reads as long as the book has a 
life science basis.  
 
Any ideas? Thanks, in advance, for your suggestions.
