Yes, I subbed-not often- our faculty had to find their own sub. The few times I
subbed I took my own lessons. I had information literacy units, folk tale units- a
wonderful Cinderella unit for Middle School with a Readers Theatre version of
Cinderella and compare and contrast of various international Cinderella stories, a
movie- I never did what the teacher had left (personal rebellion). I figured if
they wanted a classroom sub then they needed to plan ahead.....The kids enjoyed it,
the teachers who weren't happy found their own "classroom" sub after that and I
felt satisfied that I was "teaching" in my field.
