I was given a whole set of the Spencer Johnson Valuetales. We opened a third
elementary school this year and the local historical library had a collection of
children's books that were virtually untouched. It was never really open enough to
serve as a circulating library BUT the point is we were given about 260 books
mostly classics from the 50's to 80's. I don't know quite how to catalog or use
these books as I know they are not true. My favorite example is when a butterly
speaks to one of the characters!
I looked them up on Amazon and found reader reviews (click the link and scroll to
the bottom)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0916392066/qid=1110072158/sr=1-18/ref=sr_1_18/103-1334945-4530267?v=glance&s=books
gushing over how they were so inspirational and loved and adults are seeking them
for their own children. Too bad I would be permitted to sell them on ebay! I'm
considering placing them in the 300's but I know students will still see them as
true since the person really lived.
What would you do?
