We have anti-virus software installed on our network. However, I have a couple of
computers that have this ISTSVC.exe application installed on them that causes
virus-like activity. I've been able to delete it each day, but the last two days it
won't let me delete because of a "sharing violation" error. It causes pop-ups like
mad, the same ones over and over and you can't get to the desktop at all because of
it.
I also have Microsoft Antispyware installed and run it frequently but it is not
keeping these weird files from getting on there. Could a student be downloading
them, even inadvertently by clicking on something on the web.
I'm really exasperated and our tech coordinator is no help. He doesn't answer my
e-mails. He'll tell me something is wrong, but then doesn't fix it. Don't know if
he doesn't know how or doesn't have time. I'm afraid this may spread to other
computers. HELP!!
