For those of you who have English teachers that use Faulkner's works, make
sure that you let them know that Oprah's website (you must register to
become a "member") has a variety of resources on three of Faulkner's books
this summer:
* As I Lay Dying
* The Sound and the Fury
* Light in August
There are links to Faulkner (as the author), an interactive question session
with professors, reading questions (great to use if you have a book club on
your campus that reads the classics), and a character analysis of each
person with the book.
Although I know that Oprah has done these "classics" for a while, I am
excited to see Faulkner's works (probably since I survived a semester of
Faulkner studies during my undergraduate coursework--which grew to become a
love of the works!), I think there are many resources that teachers might
not realize could be used in the classroom!
(Gee, Oprah, where were you when I was trying trudge through Yoknapatawpha
County!)
Have fun!
