I am in a K-4 school and I stopped at book four (and I think that is
stretching it). K and 1st graders cannot take out Harry Potter. If
a second grader wants to take one out, I ask how they will understand
the story if they don't know all the words. If a child says her mom
or dad will read it to her, I let her take it out, no further
questions. I do have the first book on tape. Sometimes the younger
ones will go for that.
