HIT: Suggestion for County/District Wide Fundraiser

On Monday I posted a request for information/ suggestions from people who h=
ad experience with a county or district wide library fundraiser.
I received a suggestion that we hold a read-a-thon and Deb Hendrickson gave=
 me the fabulous suggestion below:

Our county commissioners matched dollar for dollar of what the public sent =
in to a specific school (up to a limit, I think). It was wonderful. I cou=
ld look up more details in my files if you want. I probably have the orig=
inal letters, newspaper articles, etc. We are a poor area but this really=
 worked!

Thanks to Deb's suggestion we are now on Monday night's County Commissioner=
s agenda.  I'm crossing my fingers that they will meet the challenge!
