I have done this for a long time - I use Outlook- and I have folders for
each of the listserves I am on, one for in-school communications, one for
personal emails- and when I am on committees will establish one for each of
them. At a glance I can see when new messages come into any of them and
deal with the more important or pressing ones accordingly.
