integrated thematic instruction k-5

Dear LM_Netters,    I am on a curriculum action committee and have been
asked to come up with some suggestions for encouraging more integrated
thematic instruction at the K-5 level.  Do any of you have any ideas/experiences  
to share regarding this topic?  Any sources I should check?  As always,  Thanks in
