Solution to public viewing of student accounts

Dear friends,
Thanks to all who responded to my original post.  I was puzzled that a student 
could access their circulation account from the OPAC with just their name - making 
it possible to view other students' accounts (Winnebago Spectrum 5.0).

I was advised that  I could change this on my main circ computer by going to 
catalog set-up.  I added patron number to the info needed for public viewing.

Perhaps I should have called the Winnebago support phone line before posting to LM 
NET - but my support contract hasn't been re-newed this year and now we're out of $ 
(please, don't ask!)
Also,  I was interested in feedback about the ethical nature of this dilemma.
