circulating magazines

I use a barcoded envelope.  When students check out this way the computer
makes it a temporary item.  In the title line I put a shortened version of
the magazine title and the date of issue:  Amer. Girl  9/02. That way I can
tell the student which magazine is missing and I am more accountable to the
parents who have to pay the fine for the lost book.
