GEN: Online Searchable Database for books

Dear LM_NET ers

This seems such a simple request that I'll be prepared for Saturday
detention if given because I've overlooked the obvious.

I'm looking for a website that has a database of published books that =
can be
searched online using a simple form by author, title or keyword.  I do =
not
want to use a general search engine as it throws back too much =
irrelevant
material.

A simple request .... but who in the world is actually doing it ... =
other
than individual publishers who only do their own publications ... there =
must
be someone.
