ELEM: WARNING - "The Cat in the Hat" movie is not for children

MOVIE WARNING:

I HIGHLY recommend that elementary students do not see the new "CAT IN THE
HAT" movie in the theaters.  After seeing it over the holiday, I am
embarrassed.  The movie is not appropriate for students in K-4.  The
content, sexual implications, and language are disappointing.  Newspaper
reviews have given it only 1 ½ stars.  I hope it does not dampen children's
(or their parents' love) of Dr. Seuss.  Despite the movie, we will continue
celebration of "Seuss-entennial" in 2004 (world recognition of Dr. Seuss's
