I try to let the librarian for the elem. grades know which books we will use as core
books and those become hands-off.  It is frustrating -  it is so difficult to find
great middle school books that appeal to all the students.  When you find a good
book and the then realize that it was a read aloud a few years earlier it can be
extremely irritating!
