Hi,

I also have a great problem with this, though I also have a problem with
students getting into Online Chat. Students have their own e-mail
accounts, and they e-mail to each other, as well as getting some e-mails
from friends outside the school system. We have had only one incident of a
student e-mailing a staff member a "not nice" letter. That student has
since been taken off the system, and has been suspended from school (as per
our district AUP). I have heard about the dangers of this, so I try to keep
the students away from it. Though the access to the network has only
happened for the students in the past couple of months they are getting
very accomplished in "playing" with the computers. I have to constantly
change the "Wallpaper" back to the one I had. I had pictures of Michael
Jordan, and AC/DC as Wallpaper. It seems that the computer teacher is
teaching his students how to change the screen savers and wallpaper. I do
have the option of requesting that Fortress be put on the computer, but
right now i am at the wait and see mode. Since the network has only been
running almost one year there are still a lot of bugs and other things to
work out.

Just a few thoughts.
