Dear LM_NETers,
        We just had the incredibly good fortune to have Brian Jacques appear
in our city.  A local bookstore rented a theater and gave out tickets (first
come..) several weeks ago.  I almost did not go - it was Friday at 5:00, it
had been a LONG week, etc., etc.  But I am so glad that I dragged myself
there.  If you ever have the opportunity to hear him speak, DO NOT PASS IT
UP!  He is the most marvelous speaker - no, I should say, performer.  He
"performed" (I can't say read, since he did not have the book in front of
him) Chp. 2 of Redwall where he introduces the despicable character of
"Cluny the Scourge".  He held the audience (mostly upper elem and MS boys)
in the palm of his hand.  He had us laughing and crying within minutes of
each other.  He does a radio show for the BBC - and obviously does it very
well.  I think I will be on "a high" for days to come, and altho' I admired
his work before, am now Jacques fan for life.  Have a good weekend! :-)
