Cienein, Scott._Lost City [Dinotopia], 1996
This is part of a series of fiction books based on James
Gurney's incredible Dinotopia books. I have one reluctant reader who
is really into them so I have promised to keep getting them if he
keeps reading them. In this one Andrew, Lian, and Ned go to explore
the forbidden Lost City and find a tribe of dinosaurs living there
out of contact with the rest of Dinotopia. The hidden tribe has to
get used to the new ways of these visitors and the visitors convince
the isolated tribe to once again interact with the rest of Dinotopia.
I enjoyed the story but the writing in the 143 page book was
disappointing. It has short and choppy sentences (maybe I have been
reading too much excellent stuff lately.) This series does have its
nitch -- and it does have several authors.
