Help! A parent just asked me if I knew the title of a book that was her
favorite as a child. The book is about a boy who lived in neighborhood
that did not allow animals in it. He finds a dog (she thinks it was a
sheep dog) and keeps him in an abandoned car by a lake. There is a
flood, the boy gets sick, and the dog comforts him. In the end, the
townspeople let him keep the dog. This parent thought that the book was
called Dog!, but she isn't sure and has been unable to find anything
under that title.
