TECH: Video Editing

Our district provides R & D funds to each building's technology
committee to try out new software and make recommendations for
district-wide purchases. My building's committee would like to pioneer
software that would enable teachers to transfer powerpoint, hyperstudio,
or other presentations to videotape. Can someone out there tell me
specifically what hardware and software we would need to do this? I need
to write up the proposal before March 26th. Thanks again for your help!
