request for more info on automation systems, esp. Alexandria

Dear LM-NETters,

I realize that this has been discussed before and I have read the
information available in the archives before writing this note. Please
respond to me personally and I will post a hit if it is warranted.

Our library, which serves approximately 400 6th-12th grade students, has
finally received the funds necessary to go from a card catalog to an
automated system.

This is an invitation to anyone who might be interested to comment on
Alexandria vs. other automation systems.  We have met with representatives
from Athena, Follett, Winnebago, and Companion (Alexandria). We were most
impressed with the Alexandria demonstration and I am leaning towards
purchasing their system if we can afford it. But because I have never been
through this process before I am worried about making a mistake.  I would
especially like to hear from anyone who is currently using the latest
version of Alexandria, or from anyone who recently went through a similar
selection process and had specific reasons they did not like Alexandria.
