REF SEC Who is Raskolnikov? AP English question

Does anyone out there know who the Raskolnikov is that Joan Didion refers to
in a prose piece she wrote about not being accepted into Phi Beta Kappa? He/She
appears to be related to academics in some way. My only finds have been for
Raskolniks who were religious zealots. Any other ideas? TIA Sheila Baltzell
