You might consider reading discussion groups instead of more tests. I
think in an effort to compel reading we just about kill it as a
pleasurable activity by the ways we try to "test" (prove to ourselves)
that students have REALLY read a book---for pleasure??? Maybe we should
try more empathy as we develop our "checks"--would we like to read for
pleasure and "prove it" in this way?
