Hi folks - I am searching with our English dept for a contemporary realistic novel
to use as a classroom read. We are looking for something that deals with a current
teen issue BUT that has a hopeful ending. We are looking for something that is not
too dark. We are also looking for something that would be a fairly fast read for a
group. We read and loved What Happened to Cass McBride but we felt the language was
a bit too much for a classroom read for 10th graders and the ending was not too
hopeful. We read Rooftop but felt although great it was not for all. So, I am
hoping that this huge collective brain will offer me up something that I haven't
thought of that meets our criteria. Any suggestions? Please respond directly to me.
TIA.
