I am trying to set up access from our school website to Britannica Online
(for which we have just purchased a subscription). I am being told (by
Britannica in the UK) that it is not possible without student ID numbers
or by having a secure (not available to the public) webpage. However,
when I look at other libraries' webpages, I see links which open to a page
asking for a username and password. That is what I was hoping we could
have, using an easy-to-remember password and username (that's how our
students gain access to our other subscription databases), but I am told
that what I am finding is a default error and that they do not allow it.
Does this sound right to those of you who have access to Britannica from a
"public" page?
