[LM_NET] ELEM: Best Picture Books of the last year

Good morning all:
      Forgive me if this is an issue that has been brought up recently  
and I just can't find it in the archives.
      I am a missionary in the Philippines who is currently in the  
United States just for the month. I have been "planting" myself in the  
library trying to find new books to order to take back with me and  
realized that I really don't know which new picture books are out  
there that are must buys. I can look at various lists on the Internet  
and look through the shelves, but then I wonder which ones are REALLY  
popular within your elementary library?
       If anyone has some truly spectacular picture books that have  
been published within the last 2 years or so that you would like to  
recommend could you please let me know?
