I am a graduate student in the School Library Media Program at McDaniel
College in Westminster, MD. I am taking the cataloging course this semester and
our first assignment is to connect with other experienced library media
specialists using a list serve and ask the following question.
What are the reasons and importance of having a written technical processing
policy for cataloging materials? Should the policy list specifics for
different grade levels? I am especially interested in the middle school level.
Any sample policies will be most helpful.
Thank you,
