Good Afternoon:
The theme at my school for the winter quarter is Folktales and Folklore.
On Friday, the children's librarian from LBPH (Library for the Blind and Physically
Handicapped, part of NLS), two teachers, and I presented Ed Young's Cat and Rat:
Legend of the Chinese Zodiac.
Friday afternoon, a teacher told me her students are interested in putting
on their own Reader's Theater performance from other folktales. I found great
resources at the Read, Write, Think site including a link to Alan Shepard's RT page
for this teacher.
http://www.readwritethink.org/index.asp My question: Does anyone knows of RT
resources for special education students? Or, for hi/lo (high interest, low-level
reader) students?
(BTW, sometimes it's worth wearing a very fake mouse ears headband in public
after the age of 5!)
Dorothy M. Hughes, Librarian
The Maryland School for the Blind
