[LM_NET] TECH: Sony Small Wonder camcorder - annoying noise

Greetings from snowy NH!
We purchased several Sony Small Wonder cameras (part of a grant) and have 
discovered that the video you create ends with a loud annoying clicking sound.   
You can go into the edit function and push back the recording a second to delete 
the sound, but we will be making hundreds of videos (students reviewing books) and 
don't really have the time to do this!  Also, if you push "pause" anytime during 
the video, you also get the same loud sound.  We did check to make sure that all 
the cameras do it (so it's not a defective camera).

My question is this
1) have you encountered this problem?
if so how have you worked around this issue?

We did a lot of research including reading the tech articles about the camera in 
SLJ and no one ever mentioned this sound.  Why????  We wouldn't have purchased them 
if we had known this!
