Apparently my post about disposal of the Koran has become more heated than I
would have anticipated. I posted because I wanted to know the proper,
respectful way to dispose of a 1977 paperback copy that fell apart during
recent use. I didn't think that using glue and tape to hold it together
(like I would A Child Called It) would be the respectful thing to do. I'd
like to replace it with a new copy. I thought (obviously mistakenly) that,
like the U.S. flag, burning would be the preferred method. Now, I know that
is definitely not the answer. Anyway, most people reasonably suggested that
I take it to the nearest mosque. Because we live in the boonies, that turns
out to be almost an hour away. I plan to give that mosque a call and see
what they say. Thanks for your advice.
