[LM_NET] Target--lesson ideas about ..Diary of a Part-Time Indian

Hi Everyone, LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU
Our school will begin 8th grade literature groups  in late February and 
one of the groups will be reading The Absolutely True Diary of a 
Part-Time Indian, by Sherman Alexie.
Has anyone used this book to date?  Do you have any suggestions of main 
themes that might make discussions exciting and  relevant to students?  
If you have any ideas please let me know.  Thanks
