We are trying to put together a handout to give teachers that has some basics rules
over creating and using a wiki or a classroom blog. I was thinking about things
such as Do... demonstrate how easy it is to edit or post. Do.....be aware of cases
of cyber-bullying and how it can be used with a wiki and/or blog (ie adding
inappropriate comments). Do....use it as a collaboration tool. Do....take a look
at the edit history of a wiki to see changes. Do...make sure all comments come to
you first to approve BEFORE they are posted on the site.
Basically, we are going to have teachers at our school start using wiki's and blogs
in their classrooms with their students. However, we want to also insure internet
safety and comply with all of the safety issues. If you have a handout that you
have used, can you please share. Or if you have any other comments that you think
is important for a teacher to know before they create a wiki or a blog, pass those
on as well. We plan on using classblogmeister.com and wikispaces. Thanks!
