This proved to be a very popular topic! And I received nearly as many
requests to post a HIT as I did title suggestions! Thanks everyone for all
of the ideas!

The Phonics Comics Series from Innovative Kids has titles such as Cave Dave
Using www.mackin.com , I put in graphic novels as the Keyword (Subject) and
the grades/interest level from K-5 and had an amazing list of sources come
up, 23 pages worth, or 1147 titles. Really amazing list, some of which you
already mentioned, of course; but what about Adventures of Super Diaper
Baby, Amelia Rules, Angel Sanctuary, Betty and Veronica, Nancy Drew, Owly,
Peach Fuzz, Wallace & Gromit, Walt Disney's Donald Duck Adventures. Also
click on Suggested Lists and request Philip Crawford recommendations and
look at the specific grade level list he suggests. Just lots of rumored
editions of all the best reads now being adapted into graphic novels as
well. Don't know how far that has gone.
Calvin and Hobbes (every copy every volume) is always out at our K-5.
The other add I've wanted to make for a while is Red & Rover.
The other that I haven't looked at enough yet is Mutts (same
author as The Gift of Nothing), which has many volumes.
I know these are comics, rather than true graphic novels,
but the kids love them (and they still make me laugh!).
Nancy Drew (I got these through amazon)
Queen Bee
Goosebumps
Babysitters Club
Amelia (by Jimmy Gownley, not Marissa Moss - great books!)
Tintin (for your better readers - probably around 6th grade reading level;
available in hardback compilations)
My graphic nonfiction and biography titles also circulate frequently -
kids seek them out on the shelves.
Papercutz has Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys graphic novels and Marvel has
Marvelous Adventures and there are Graphic Novel Classics, but I don't have
direct experience with them.
However, in my K-5 library we have several of the Graphic Library books by
Capstone Press.
They have been very well received by both boys and girls.
The choices from Graphic Library are:
GL Inventions and Discovery
GL Biographies (available in Spanish also)
GL Disasters in History
GL History (Spanish too)
GL Science
I have purchased them mainly for my reluctant readers and put the
biographies right in with the others so there's no "It's not a real
biography" stuff from the other kids. The rest are intershelved according to
Dewey.
And don't for TIN TIN, very popular!
"Graphic Library" by Capstone Press and "Graphic Biographies" by World
Almanac Press are what I have. There are many other sets out there which
might be as good or better, but these are what I have. They get checked out
frequently, and the ones I have looked at have plenty of useful content.
The Courageous Princess by Rod Espinosa is well-loved in my school, K and
up.
Stone Arch Books-- I ordered the entire catalog!
During a recent
trip to Borders, I found that the Babysitter's Club has a new series in
graphic novel format. Apparently there are 3 in the series so far.
Did you see this SLJ article?

Also, First Second has some great titles - Sardine from outer Space series
and Tiny Tyrant. (Most titles are teen and older from this company.)
