Hello everyone,
Due to a remodeling project that is not finished, I am without a library.
For the time being, our entire building is also without internet/network
access. I don't know how long this will be the situation, as I've heard
everything from the end of September to mid-November, but I'd like to make
the best of it.
My question to all of you is, how shall I go about doing that? I'm sure
there are plenty of wonderful lessons and activities to do with classes
that do not involve a library space, library books, or computers...I just
can't think of many. I think I'll have access to our reference books, so
that's where I'm going to start with some of the older kids (in this case,
3rd & 4th grade). I'm also planning on using this time to share plenty of
read-alouds [from the public library], but I don't want that to be all I
do.
What else? Any suggestions (preferably geared toward grades 1-4) would be
welcomed. I'm having a hard time thinking "outside the box," but reckon
the brilliant minds of LM_NET can help me figure out how to make the best
of a frustrating situation! :)
