Dear Fellow New York State librarians,
I have had a few students ask me how they can become a librarian. Being a school
librarian is a second career for me and I was accepted into graduate school with an
undergraduate degree in Anthropology. I can't imagine this was the best route.
What is the recommended educational path to follow? (Do undergraduate degrees in
Library Science even exist any more?) What kind of background did you have going
into grad school and how well did it prepare you for your career?
Thank you for your help.
