I had a teacher request a Book List of "Must Have" read-alouds for a 4th
grade ESL class. She asked for titles that every 4th grade child should
have read/heard by the end of 4th grade. The class is low in language
skills, as most are recent arrivals and is composed of mostly Asian &
Hispanic students.
The teacher and I have reviewed Jim Trelease's book and chosen a few
titles but I'd like to hear from you before I put together the list. I
have also searched the archives and while I found several hits, most dealt
with popular, funny books to read aloud - not necessarily specific,
necessary titles that a 4th grade student MUST have been exposed to.
Please respond to me directly and I will post a HIT.
Thanks in advance.
