Hi. I am showing some students how to make wikis for a group project. I've
been telling them that they either need to use public domain images from
places like yotophoto.com or freephoto.com, or get permission and give
credit for any other images that aren't public domain.

Then I came across some fair use information that made it seem okay for
students to use images for an assignment without asking permission from the
image owner. But maybe that only applies to formats like PowerPoint that
aren't online?

I'm confused. Can anyone clarify if our students need to get permission to
use images for a wiki (a collaborative web site) they are creating for a
final project?

Thank you,
