Becky, I agree to a certain extent with you, too! But as a former
college English teacher, I have to say that there IS a certain
requirement to fully engage students. We've all had those passionate
professors who inspire us with their passion AND their
methods. We've also probably all had those disaffected professors
who just deliver the goods and expect students to "sit and listen"
whether it's interesting, involving, meaningful, or deadly
boring. Best practice shouldn't end at the college/university gates, I think.
