A staff member remembers standing in the elementary library reading a picture book
during the Scholastic book fair last year. (It may or may not have been ON the
book fair). It was about a man who lived up north.. perhaps Alaska who was walking
with his dogs, when he fell through ice. He told the dogs to go home, but they
stayed with him, making several efforts to help him, before they succeeded in
getting him out of the creek/river/lake. She thinks it was based on a true story.
The cover is 'mostly' white, and she remembers very realistic artistic
illustrations. Now she wants to use it with a class. I've searched my catalog, with
no success. Any ideas???
