Some people just don't have common sense - if they want to make the
library more like a book store do it with signs rather than rearranging
the library to look like a bookstore. In my library the cookbooks are
located on bottom shelves, if I wanted to make sure they were easier to
find I would move them to the next section of shelving and place signs
like the bookstores do.

(Our Culinary Arts teacher has the students use the internet to get
their recipes. Drives me up a wall, but I save money to purchase books
for other labs and I get free cookbooks from Books Are Fun and
Imagine-Nation, companies that come in to sell books to the staff.)

When my mother developed a call number system for a specialized special
needs library it was based on Dewey so that it would be easier for
teachers to use.

I had one teacher years ago ask me to pull books for her program and put
them in a special place so they would be easy to find. I told her they
were already in a special place and were easy to find because of the
Dewey system and then showed them where they were located. She was ok
with not moving the books.
