I have a teacher looking for a childhood favorite. She remembers that
it is a mystery chapter book set in San Francisco, Lombard Street.
There is a subplot about stepfamilies. Something about a little girl
seeing a cat in a window of a grey house with red geraniums. An old
lady probably lives in the house. Sorry, that's all the detail she can
remember. She read this book in the 1960's when she was 9 or 10. I
know this is a stretch. Does it strike a chord with anyone?
Thanks for any input.
