[LM_NET] TARGET: Loss of Library Assistants

Dear friends,

We have less than a week to rally parents and teachers in an attempt to
reverse a school board decision to eliminate library assistants at the
primary level (K-4) due to budget cuts.

We are currently a prep period for teachers and teach the classified
children in classes normally taught by two teachers (regular ed & special
ed) by ourselves after an earlier budget eliminated instructional assistants
who accompanied these kids. 

 We have been fortunate to have wonderful, skilled full-time assistants in
our libraries and our programs are outstanding as a result. Any specific
facts, figures, "buzz words," etc. that have worked for you would be greatly
appreciated.
