[LM_NET] spelling bee alternatives

We are looking at some sort of contest alternative to a school spelling
bee.  Our school is k-5, and traditionally, only the 4th & 5th graders
participate in the Spelling Bee, while other students are spectators. I am
interested in hearing if you do anything like a Vocabulary challenge,
General Knowledge Bee, Geography Bee, or whatever else that would be
appropriate for this age level. I'm not a big fan of spelling bees, but I
would like to have a positive alternative for those who are more
enthusiastic about such things.  Thanks in advance, you brilliant
miracle-workers!
