Our school is in the process of designing a new school. I've been told the
Ohio School Facilities Commission does not fund a school auditorium for new
school construction. Every high school that I've attended or visited had an
auditorium. Is this non-funding of an auditorium standard practice around
the United States?
For those of you with new schools or who are designing new schools, are you
planning an auditorium? If so, how are you funding your auditorium?
I've been asked to find research studies that show the importance of an
auditorium in the school's program. Before I spend time digging, I thought
someone might point me in the right direction. Are any of you familiar with
research that supports the need for a school auditorium?
I'd appreciate any information you might share with me.
